Harvest Picnic and Walk to Chilworth Tree Circle - Useful Information

We're planning a church harvest trip to Chilworth Tree Circle on Sunday 11th October after the Harvest service. It's a beautiful place, and there'll be the chance to have a short walk, explore the woods and eat together. Read on for information about what to bring and how to get there. (There's a map at the bottom of this blog)

Timing:

  • Gather in the church carpark at 11.30, and sign up with Sera or Paul to say you're coming on the trip.

  • Leave church between 11.30 and 11.45

  • Meet at the gate (see map below) between 12.00- 12.15 (please don't walk on to the tree circle without Sera or Paul as we'll be waiting for you)

  • We'll visit the tree circle, and either eat there or at a grassy area nearby. There can be the option of a 30 minute woodland and grassland walk.

Please bring:

  • Your own picnic to eat (and rug or something to sit on)

  • Sturdy footwear for walking on grass

  • Suitable clothes to stay warm enough.

  • If you want to bring a dog, please make sure they are well-behaved with other people.

Important Safety Information

  • Please tell Sera if you plan to come so we can meet you there.

  • This trip is weather-dependent, if it's rainy it will be postponed. Check with Sera and Paul on the Sunday morning to confirm it's going ahead. We'll have a picnic in church if it's too wet to go.

  • You are responsible for getting to and from the car park at Chilworth Manor. If you need a lift, then you can ask Sera to put you in touch with someone who might have space for you in their car.

  • Parents are responsible for their children and must make sure they remain within their eye-sight for the whole trip.

  • Access is level but on grass or soil paths, therefore you need to be able to walk for 10 to 15 minutes (with a stick or frame).
