Prayer

Prayer is at the heart of everything we do and be at St Denys. We believe everyone can pray, there is no prayer too big, small, quiet or silly for God. God invites us to pray and helps us pray. And so there are whole range of ways you can involved with praying, alone or with others in St Denys.

The Book of Prayers

You could write a message of 'thanks!' or 'help' in our Book of Prayers, and then we will include it in Prayer Together on Wednesday mornings. You can write in the physical book that is waiting for you in the church, or you can add your prayers virtually using the form at this link.

Prayer Together

Each Wednesday morning you have the choice of either joining with a small group of folk on Zoom to pray using this link, or to privately use our weekly Prayer Together Enews to pray for local and global concerns. You can sign up to receive the Prayer Together Enews using this link.

Prayer Encounter

If you're available and are keen that people encounter Jesus, then why not come along to the church on the first Wednesday lunch of the month (12.30 to 1.15) to pray. Join with a small group of folk who pray in different areas of the church, for different aspects of life and ministry, all centred around the desire that people encounter Jesus. You don't need to pray out loud, though you are welcome to. Come along and join in a way that you are comfortable with.

Prayer Ministry after Sunday Services

If you are facing a struggles, questions or joys, you might appreciate someone listening and praying for you. After every Sunday 10am, we have members of our Pastoral Care Team who are willing to listen to you and prayer through the concerns and hopes you have. They won't judge, they won't give solutions, but they will listen and pray, and we believe that this makes a difference.

Weekly Church Prayer Diary

In our Prayer Diary we bring together all the people, places and situations that make up our ministry network. Each week, there are five categories to pray for:

  • Members of our church community—on the Electoral Roll or part of our worshipping community. (If you can't see your name on the list, click here to join the Prayer Diary)
  • Streets in our parish. You may wish to visit the street, or pray for things going on there.
  • Our church ministry: These are the branches of our mission seek to grow as disciples, enrich communities near and far, and to care well for each other and our resources.
  • The wider community we serve: Groups that use the Church, Centre and our resources, or who are active in the local community.
  • Partners in Ministry and Mission: The charities and people we support as Mission Partners and those with whom we share our vision.
